Walter and Louise Simonson have secured themselves noteworthy chapters in the history of comics. Louise has concentrated primarily as an editor and writer, working on such prestigious titles as “X-Factor” and “The New Mutants” for Marvel and “Superman: The Man of Steel” for DC Comics. She was one of the main writers involved in crafting “The Death of Superman”, where Superman was killed by the monstrous Doomsday and later resurrected. Her husband, Walter, is a renowned writer and artist, highly regarded for his mythic episodes of “Thor” and the introduction of Beta Ray Bill, an alien humanoid worthy enough to carry Mjolnir, Thor’s enchanted Uru hammer, and thus wield it’s power. Walter has wielded much power himself, working as writer, penciller and inker for such titles as “The Fantastic Four” and “Orion”. This interview catches them both at an early time in their careers, when Walter had just finished his epic run on “Thor”, while Louise was the lead writer for the Marvel’s “The New Mutants” title.
