William Shatner visited with a Total Panic crew at New York’s 1989 Creation Convention right before the release of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier which he also directed. He just ran off stage after a rousing speech he gave to an audience of rabid Star Trek fans eager for any new tidbit about the upcoming film. The Total Panic crew made sure to provide an ample amount of Perrier water (at Mr. Shatner’s specific request), while volunteer fans held back their comrades who were literally causing the doors of the small ballroom where the interview was being held to bulge and buckle once they found out he was in there. Between catching his breath and the interview, he was ambushed by Creation Convention personnel, which laid out a plethora of various plates, cups and other strange memorabilia for him to sign, which he graciously did. The interview was short and sweet. Mr. Shatner was a real champ.
